Three weeks later I started receiving threatening phone calls saying they never received my broken phone and I was going to get charged $300. I called multiple times telling them I did indeed send back my phone! Customer service rep didn't care and my credit card was charged $300. I'm currently fighting these charges since I sent the phone back exactly according to their instructions in the little white envelop they provide.
Definitely not worth purchasing this insurance, as I paid $170 for the replacement, plus another $300 for the broken phone. I could have gotten a brand new iPhone 4 instead of paying them for a refurbished one. 1295784

Mailed my water damaged phone back the day after I received the new one, and have had $300 charged to my credit card because they claim to never have received it. The only positive thing I have to say is at least they didn't send me a refurbished one!!! I'm ripped. |
| 2. Written by JD on March 9, 2012 from -, -, US How about this for an update...Sprint was able to determine that not only had Assurion received my damaged equipment it has already been refurbished and issued to another Sprint customer!! Working with Assurion now to get the charges removed, but I have to wonder if Assurion is fraudulently using supposedly non-returned equipment as an additional revenue stream. For others in a similar situation have your provider determine if the equipment has been re-issued and if so make sure Assurion owns up to their mistake. Hard to believe but Assurion is still trying to fight me on this, and I have both Assurion and Sprint in conference. |
| 3. Written by JD on March 9, 2012 from -, -, US Going through the EXACT same thing with Assurion right now. I have been charged $275 for not returning a phone that I actually mailed to them 3 days after receiving my replacement. It NEVER occurred to me that the envelope they provided did not have tracking features and now I have ZERO proof that I shipped it!! The Assurion rep was polite and understanding, but unable to help in any way. So I either pay the $275 or have my service terminated with Sprint. They have effectively tied my hands. |
